Thurlow Nunn League
Swaffham Town 2
Fakenham Town 1
The Pedlars took three points from local rivals Fakenham Town on Friday evening.
Against the run of play, the visitors took the lead in the 23rd minute only for Joe Jackson to bring it level 10 minutes later. Fakenham were unable to clear their lines, and Jackson lashed home a loose ball from 12 yards.
The crucial goal came in the second half, as substitute Luke Reed was brought down in the area for a stonewall penalty, Alex Vincent converting with confidence.
Swaffham Town wish to thank Narford Scaffolding, The George Hotel and the Greyhound Inn for their continued support, amongst other supporters of the club, for their help to offer football at this standard in the community. STFC also send a massive thank you to all fans who braved the wind and rain.
The Under 18’s were called off in midweek, as the North Walsham pitch was water-logged. On Thursday they face Easton & Otley College at the Football Development Centre, Bowthorpe, in their endeavour to clinch the North Division title.
