Swaffham bagged a welcome four points from their two senior Thurlow Nunn Premier fixtures during the past week.

At Haverhill on Saturday, Alex Vincent (pictured) converted a penalty for the Pedlars to gain a well earned point. Tonight they travel to league leaders Norwich United.

Swaffham gained revenge for an FA Cup defeat over Thetford on Tuesday, with a convincing 3-1 victory. The visitors went ahead in the eighth minute with Jack Defty balancing the score in the 37th. Second half goals from Joe Jackson and Luke Reed ensured the three points.

The Reserves were unfortunate away to Beccles Caxton, going down 3-1, Ben Harris netting for Swaffham.

The ‘A’ team were at North Elmham and were unlucky to get anything out of the game. Elmham clinched the points from a 4-3 victory which could have gone either way. Swaffham goals came from Conor McQuaid, Matthew Blackford and Ahmed Rhaouti.

It’s a big week for the Under 18’s. Last week’s game was called off through a flooded pitch. On Thursday evening they host Mildenhall Town in the FA Youth Cup competition.

On Sunday the Veterans kicked off their season with a deserved 3-0 win over Harts at Diss. Goals from Paul Hutchins, Piers Richings and a bonus own goal sealed the match in the first half. Some fine defending in the second half claimed all three points.
