King’s Lynn Town have completed the signing of attacking winger Peter Winn ahead of tomorrow’s EvoStik League trip to 22nd-spotMarine.
Linnets boss Gary Setchell has acted quickly following the recent departures of George Thomson and Jake Jones by snapping up Winn (26) on a one-month loan deal from Chester FC.
On the signing of Winn, Setchell said: “I am very pleased to be able to bring Peter into the squad.
“He has a number of Conference appearances under his belt with the likes of Barrow, Stevenage, Macclesfield and Cambridge United.
“He will give us some experience and also balance having lost Jake earlier in the week.”
Setchell, who is keen to add some extra strength to his threadbare squad lying in 12th spot, is also hoping to add one or two more new faces to his team over the next week.
Winn was on Scunthorpe United’s books for five years, making his debut at the age of 16 when a second-year scholar.
He made four appearances for Scunthorpe and had loan spells with Northwich Victoria, Barrow and Gateshead.
He moved to Stevenage in 2010, making 28 appearances, and had loan periods with Cambridge United and Grimsby Town before leaving in 2012 to join Conference National side Macclesfield Town a month later.
He made 67 appearances for Macclesfield before joining Chester in June 2014.
He has made 12 appearances (seven starts) for Chester this season, scoring one goal.
It has been confirmed that winger Jake Jones has decided to join Halesowen Town.
Lynn’s league rivals gave Town a seven day notice of approach for the player last weekend and the Yeltz club is much closer to Jones’s Midlands base.
In Thurlow Nunn Division One, King’s Lynn Town Reserves host their counterparts from Braintree at The Walks.
