The King’s Lynn Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars travel to Birmingham’s Perry Barr tonight (Wednesday 29) in National League speedway action.
Dale Allitt’s side will be aiming to end the Brummies’ season-long unbeaten home run tonight and he has kept the formation of his side unchanged for the meeting. The Young Stars will be without Shane Hazelden for the meeting after he was injured at work, so rider replacement will be used.
Jake Knight (pictured) leads the side at number one with Ryan Kinsley, Scott Campos and Tom Stokes making up the Young Stars top five. Layne Cupitt and Josh Bailey complete the side at reserve.
Birmingham are runaway leaders of the National League this season with a 15-point gap at the top of the table. The Young Stars performed well against the Brummies when they visited the Adrian Flux Arena earlier in the season, and Allitt is hoping for more of the same.
He said: “Birmingham look set for the title, but we want nothing more than to go to their place and beat them on Wednesday. When the two sides met at the start of July, we showed that we can match them and I want our guys to do that again.
“Our task has been made tougher with the withdrawal of Shane, but the guys are up for it and we know what we need to do.”
