King’s Lynn Stars team boss Rob Lyon says his side can still make the speedway Elite League play-offs.
Tonight the Roger Warnes Transport Stars travel to Poole in search of Elite League points, after last night’s (Tuesday) disappointing home defeat to Leicester.
Lyon’s side need to bounce back quickly and attack the meeting from the outset at Wimborne Road.
Currently fifth in the table, the Stars need to pick up league points at Poole and at home against Swindon to secure their place in the Elite League play-offs at the expense of fourth place Belle Vue.
He said: “It’s still in our hands. We’ve got Poole and Swindon. There are seven points up for grabs.
“If we get seven points that puts us on 55 points and Belle Vue can only get 53.
“There are still lots of twists and turns to be had in this play-off race.”
Boss Lyon has brought in Richard Lawson and Josh Bates to cover for absent Vaclav Milik and injured Lewis Kerr tonight.
Lynn’s number-one and most consistent rider, Niels-Kristian Iversen, leads the side tonight against the Pirates with regulars Nicklas Porsing, Robert Lambert and Kenneth Bjerre and Ashley Morris completing the side.
Poole Pirates: 1 Chris Holder, 2 Dave Watt, 3 Dakota North, 4 Kacper Gomolski, 5 Maciej Janowski, 6 Paul Starke, 7 Kyle Newman.
King’s Lynn Stars: 1 Niels-Kristian Iversen, 2 Nicklas Porsing, 3 Robert Lambert, 4 Richard Lawson (G), 5 Kenneth Bjerre, 6 Josh Bates (G), 7 Ashley Morris.
