King’s Lynn Stars rider Lewis Kerr has been called up for the Great Britain Select side which will take on the Peterborough Panthers in their 2015 season opener.
GB chief Alun Rossiter has drafted in Lynn and Newcastle rider Lewis Kerr (pictured) along with Lakeside and Birmingham ace Adam Ellis to complete his septet for the eagerly-awaited Sunday, March 15 showcase (2pm start).
They join the previously announced Ben Barker, Kyle Howarth, Richie Worrall, former Lynn rider Lewis Rose and Nathan Greaves in a team whose Premier League averages total 42.16
Therefore a close contest should be on the cards against a Readypower Panthers side also featuring six homegrown riders in Olly Allen, Lynn’s Robert Lambert, Lewis Blackbird, Adam Roynon, Simon Lambert and Ollie Greenwood.
The only non-British rider among the 14 on show when the tapes go up on the new campaign will be Ulrich Ostergaard.
“Alun has put a very strong team together,” said Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone. “And that is exactly what I wanted for our riders who will need to hit the ground running.”
GB Select: Ben Barker 8.91, Adam Ellis 4.67, Lewis Kerr 7.54, Kyle Howarth 6.57, Richie Worrall 7.32, Nathan Greaves 3.00, Lewis Rose 4.15.
