King’s Lynn Stars’ top three all-time appearance leaders are set to appear at club asset Simon Lambert’s Testimonial meeting on Sunday, March 26.

Czech star Tomas Topinka (pictured), who spent 15 seasons with the Trucks R Us Stars, was an early mentor of Lambert, whilst Ian Turner’s career revolved entirely around the Stars with the exception of 11 meetings for Boston.

Meanwhile Terry Betts remains the Norfolk outfit’s all-time points scoring and appearance record holder, and he and Turner were part of a famous KO Cup win over Reading in 1977.

Lambert said: “I am truly thrilled to have them join me for my Testimonial. They are all absolute legends.

“Terry and Ian’s reputations go before them, and Tomas played such a key part in my early career. He looked after me when I first started at King’s Lynn, and taught me so much both on the track and in the workshop. He was a true role model and consummate professional.”

l Great Britain step up their preparations for the 2017 season with a two-day training camp at Lynn this week.

Alun Rossiter’s full squad will also be joined at the Adrian Flux Arena by four of the country’s most promising youngsters at the venue for their World Cup opener in July.

Rossiter said: “One of the important things is the bonding and the fitness side of it, and we’re fortunate that Buster (Chapman) one of those who can sort the track even if the weather is looking iffy, so we decided to stay in England this year.”
