The King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars will not feature in the Elite League play-offs this season after Belle Vue secured their place with an away win over Wolverhampton on Monday night.

The Stars needed Wolves to race to a home win in-order to keep their top four hopes alive, but the Midlands side couldn’t cope Belle Vue’s dominance at Monmore Green.

Upon hearing the result at Wolves, Stars chief Buster Chapman said: “Naturally we are very disappointed that we haven’t been able to make the play-offs this season.

“I know that we will come back stronger next season and build a team capable of reaching the play-offs. We still have one more fixture left and we want to end with a win, we owe that to our supporters.”

The Stars host Swindon at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday, gates open at 6pm with action getting underway from 7.30pm. Swindon made a late change with Scott Nicholls coming in to ride in place of Peter Kildemand.

King’s Lynn Stars: 1 Jason Doyle (G), 2 Nicklas Porsing, 3 Robert Lambert, 4 Sam Masters (G), 5 Kenneth Bjerre, 6 Simon Lambert (G), 7 Ashley Morris.

Swindon Robins: 1 Troy Batchelor, 2 Aaron Summers, 3 Nick Morris, 4 TBC, 5 Grzegorz Zengota, 6 Charles Wright, 7 Lewis Rose.
