Lynn Young Stars team boss Dale Allitt was delighted with his side after their fifth National League home victory of the season put them fifth on points difference from Belle Vue.
Speaking after their thrilling 46-44 victory over Kent, Allitt said: “Kent were leading from heat five right up until the final few laps of the final race of the night so what an effort it was from our boys.
“This is a huge win for us; it’s a massive three league points and we’ve shown again that we’re capable of beating anybody in this league.”
Allitt added that league form is paramount after losing 28-61 at Eastbourne in the National League KO Cup first leg as his side chases a top four spot in the end of season play-offs.
He said: “Generally speaking, most of the guys are available for the rest of the season. After our cup result – and you should never say never – it is more important than ever to get back onto our league form.”
The Young Stars will now entertain Eastbourne in the second leg of the KO Cup on Friday, July 22.
Next for the senior team is at Coventry in the Elite League on Monday, where Rory Schlein will return to the team in place of Mads Korneliussen.
