Jake Knight will miss the King’s Lynn Young Stars’ home National League Knockout Cup semi-final tomorrow against Cradley at the Adrian Flux Arena because of a broken nose.

The Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars heat leader is out for the season, confirmed Lynn team boss Dale Allitt.

Lynn will use rider replacement. The Stars travel to the midlands on Wednesday, October 14 for the second leg.

Allitt explained: “Jake is out for the season. He has dropped to third in the averages, which means we can no longer bring a guest in.

“It’s disappointing, because that is when we need it the most. But we have been using r/r at home in the league when Jake has been injured.

“It is important that we try to build up a lead to take to them, then you’ve got something to defend.

“It’s never easy against Cradley – it’s always going to be a tough meeting.

“People will be looking at us as the underdogs. We’ve already beaten them at King’s Lynn this season, so we’ve got to make sure we do that again.”

Young Stars: 1 Tom Stokes, 2 Scott Campos, 3 Jake Knight R/R, 4 Shane Hazelden, 5 Josh Bailey, 6 Layne Cuppitt, 7 Ryan Kinsley.

Cradley Heathens: 1 Max Clegg, 2 Nathan Greaves R/R, 3 Darryl Ritchings (G), 4 Arron Mogridge, 5 Matt Williamson, 6 Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, 7 Tyler Govier.

l The club will be holding a night with Grand Prix racer and current Stars number one, Niels-Kristian Iversen on Friday, November 6 in the Champs Bar at the Adrian Flux Arena at 7.30pm.

Iversen will be joined by a number of special guests. This will be a ticket-only event. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow online and at the Young Stars KO Cup tie against Cradley.
