King’s Lynn Speedway have confirmed today that club asset Simon Lambert will fill the final reserve position in the Stars team this year.
Lambert, 26, who is a familiar face at the club, will return for a sixth season at the Adrian Flux Arena and joins Troy Batchelor, Robert Lambert, Rory Schlein, Mads Korneliussen and Lewis Rose.
Stars boss Rob Lyon believes that the signing of Lambert is good business for the club.
He said: “Simon is a good option for us. He knows the track at the Adrian Flux Arena well and that will be a huge benefit when the tapes go up in March.
“The bedding in period will be minimum because of his involvement with the club before and after his finish last season, we are expecting him to hit the ground running.”
The addition of Lambert means that just one place remains available in the Stars team for 2016.
“We are looking at riders with the last position in mind.” said Lyon. He added: “I will be honest and say that the search has been problematic and one that has caused us a few issues. We want to do what is best for the club and if that means waiting a little longer then thats what we’ll have to do.”
“There is no obvious answer, which is why we are taking our time in deciding the best way to move forward.”
