Linnets assess their F.A. fight
LINNETS chairman Ken Bobbins and fellow board member Jimmy Suckling will meet barristers this afternoon (Friday) to see if the club have a strong case against the Football Association should their on-going demotion appeal fail.
Lynn are waiting to hear the outcome of their appeal, which could take anything up to a month, following their demotion from the Conference Blue Square North over ground grading issues.
The Walks outfit have requested a personal FA hearing at Soho Square.
Former Linnets director Michael Chinn, who is backing Lynn's challenge against the footballing authorities, said: "I can't see why our appeal won't be upheld, but if it isn't then I will sue the Conference for loss of earnings.
"As I said before, all we are asking is for parity with every other club.
"Hampton and Richmond have been given until the start of next season to get their new stand completed.
short
"But from what I can understand they haven't got enough money to build the stand.
"They are about 60,000 short, whereas we've got the money in place to have the work done."
Despite Lynn's recent off-field problems, Chinn believes the vacant managerial hotseat at The Walks still holds plenty of appeal with a number of potential candidates.
"I know a lot of managers currently with clubs in the Blue Square North who want the job," said Chinn.
"I don't want to reveal names, but they know Lynn are a big and ambitious club."
In view of the uncertainty as to what league the club will be playing in next season, it has been decided to extend the reduced rates on both season and VP tickets for next season until the end of May.
Please contact John Fincham at the club on 01553 760060.
Anyone purchasing vice presidents membership before the end of May will receive a ten per cent discount.
The club is pushing ahead with gaining a shirt sponsor for next season.
After the success of last year the club will be holding a ballot and the name of the firm drawn will appear on the club's first team shirts for the new season.
If your company would like to be included in the draw or you know of a company who would be interested, please contact John Fincham on the above number.
Individuals are also welcome to enter the ballot but must also speak to John Fincham who will outline the terms of their entry into the draw.
