Marius wins four rounds

Excellent, we couldn't have wished for more. That was the view of Flitcham-based drag racer Marius Blackburn of the weekend's summer nationals event at Santa pod Raceway in Bedfordshire.

Racing in his and Chris Gray’s 500 horsepower V8 Ford engine 1923 Ford Model T, the G&B Racing Team qualified 4th out of 29 cars in the Pro Et class, covering the -mile drag strip in just 9.4 seconds from a standing start, reaching speeds of approaching 140mph.

They progressed through four tough rounds before bowing out in the semi-finals, losing by just 2/100ths of a second.

The team welcome new sponsor P&K Training Services of King’s Lynn and also thank John Mack Haulage UK of East Dereham, Norfolk A2Z Web design of Sheringham, Engine Engineering of Gt. Yarmouth & Rachel’s Childcare & Training Services of Flitcham for their continued support.

More sponsors for the rest of this season and beyond are still needed – visit the website gb-racing.co.uk
