Martial Arts: Students promoted to next grade

AT the end of March, the Kuk Sool Won School at Lynn held a promotion ceremony to recognise and promote 38 adults who took part in a grading earlier in the month.

School owner PKJN (master) Darren Brown congratulated all of the students on their performance during their gradings.

Brown said: “I am very proud of their achievements, it is a pleasure to see everyone’s skills improving. There were some excellent performances and personal goals were surpassed.”

Pictured are many of the successful students, all of whom were promoted to the following grades:

Yellow Stripe – Mike Davies, Iain Lloyd, Johnathan Youngman.

Yellow Belt – Simon Mallick, Donna Fowler, Steven Sadler, Ed Atkinson, Stephen Garrod, Richie McInnes-Piper, Ben Fowler, Edward Wheeler.

Blue Stripe – Kacper Mroz.

Blue Belt – Nigel Coombes, Jane Sparkes, Wayne Barrett.

Red Stripe – Alex Mitchell, Branton Shillingford, Karl Weeks, Chris Carr, Andy Colclough.

Red Belt – Ricky Blake, Lindsay Williams, Lena McInnes-Piper, Przemyslaw Sicinski, Cheryl Oakes.

Brown Stripe – Anne Curtis, Barbara Beleza, Edward Little.

Brown Belt – Sharon Wheeler, Nicola Long, Joanna Taylor, Marek Wiezniak.

Black Stripe – Chris Curtis, Emily Graver.

Dahn Bo Nim – Shaune Cornforth, Bob Sparkes.

Grading towards Black belt – Ryan Quinlan, Mark Greenall.

Kuk sool won is a traditional Korean martial art.

The school, who were the proud winners of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 European Championships, offer daytime and evening classes for all abilities at their full-time professional school premises on the North Lynn Industrial Estate.
