Delighted King’s Lynn Fury have announced that they have reached agreements to bring back several of last year’s National Playoff Finals basketball squad.
Nothing is ever certain in the NBL with nearly every player a free agent come April and many teams overspending in hope of reaching lofty goals.
So with Fury seeking to continue with their amateur status the club has to rely on the quality of the program to attract and retain players.
This often means players leaving their commitment until late on and with Basketball England registration only beginning in September there is always an anxious time.
It is therefore tremendous for the club to be able to return nearly all of last year’s squad.
Signing on the dotted line were dynamic point guard Giedrius Pakalniskis who wowed fans last year with his lightning fast attacks on the basket.
Shooting guards Tomas Liberis and Mindaugas Spukas, both prolific shooters and entering their third year with Fury, have also committed.
Finally the front line was shored up with the commitment from Deividas Butkevicius and Arthur Jakiel.
Both have been mainstays of the side in recent years, and with Deividas turning 25, Fury believe he can be the cornerstone of their senior side.
Speaking for the group, Spukas said: “We are very happy to be with Fury and think we can achieve something great this year.”
