West Norfolk Junior Badminton has a new level 2 coach after club captain Ben Watts successfully qualified with Badminton England.

Ben, 18, from Downham, has been a level 1 Assistant coach with West Norfolk Juniors for over 2 years, and has been supporting squad head coach Robin Cooper throughout that time.

Ben started with the squad in 2010 as an 11-year-old, and was invited into the County Under 17 squad in 2014. He has been Club Captain for 2 years, supporting the coaches and committee at matches and tournaments.

Ben is currently also coaching at the junior club in West Winch, which takes place on Wednesdays from 6 to 7pm at the William Burt centre.

“I am extremely thrilled to have passed my Level 2 qualification. I really enjoy and am very enthusiastic when it comes to coaching the juniors around West Norfolk; and I get a real buzz from seeing the progression that they make when I am coaching them.” said Ben

Squad manager, Roger Cetti said “The whole committee are very proud of Ben’s achievement, that he has progressed from an enthusiastic and popular member of the squad, to being a highly-regarded coach. We hope he will stay with us for many years and help develop future West Norfolk junior players.”
