Bloy beats top seed in Wisbech Wheelers’ event

In the Wisbech Wheelers Open 25 mile TT, second seed Daniel Bloy of Velovelocity rounded the course in a rapid 52.09 to give him first place over top seed Barry Charlton of Swinnerton Cycles.

The podium was rounded out by Charlie Nurse of North Norfolk Wheelers.

The quickest Wisbech rider was triathlete, Mat McClure, and in the ladies’ competition the honours were taken by Jennifer McAndrew of Team Jadan, followed by Jennifer Smart of VC Norwich and Lindsay Clark of Fenland Clarion.

The fastest Wisbech lady was Becky Murley three and a half minutes over regular rival Becky Hamilton.

Local rider Roger Sewell, fast approaching 70, still managed a remarkable 57.55.

In the Tuesday evening series McClure was far too quick for the rest but the next two riders John Talbot and Stuart Emmett were separated by only two seconds.

Correction to one of last week’s results: R Elbury was the second fastest Wisbech rider at Breckland with a personal best of 23.19, not as published.
