New Lynn PC

Sixteen members send 203 birds to Newbury.

Having not raced their birds so much this season, Chris and Leighton Boughen were in fantastic form, taking three of the top four positions.

Their winning De Klak took 2hrs 11 mins to fly the 115 miles.

They also won first pools and the nom, while the second pools went to the Manning Brothers.

Result: 1, 2, 4 Chris and Leighton Boughen, 1548, 1518, 1511; 3, 5 Manning Brothers & Son, 1514, 1508; 6 Phil and Wayne Vincent, 1495.

Wereham FC

The first race was from Carentan when five members sent 60 birds to this French race.

A great win for club secretary Shaun Ewing, from Downham, when his winner took 5hrs 35 mins to fly 237 miles.

Result: 1 Shaun Ewing, 1244; 2, 4 Billy Mellett, 1184, 867; 3 Steve Ward, 1164; 4 6 Kevin and Diane Woolston, 922, 840.

The club also had nine lofts send 136 birds to Newbury.

Wormegay’s Billy Mellett had a good race, taking the club’s first two positions.

His Flor Engels took 2hrs 10 mins to fly 112 miles.

Result: 1, 2 Billy Mellett, 1513, 1507; 3 5 6 Steve Ward, 1491, 1474, 1458; 4 Kevin and Diane Woolston, 1477.

Clenchwarton (south)

Eight members sent 99 birds to Newbury.

Ted and Sandra Scott led the way when their bird took 2hrs 8 mins to fly 109 miles.

Result: 1 Ted and Sandra Scott, 1497; 2, 4 Pete and Dave Ellwood, 1459, 1445; 3 Her Majesty the Queen, 1448; 5, 6 David Tibbs, 1425 (both birds).

Clenchwarton (north)

Ninety birds were sent by nine lofts from Whitby.

Wally and Sheila Collins had a good race, taking three of the club’s first four, and their winner took 2hrs 20 mins to fly 126 miles.

Result: 1, 3 4 Wally and Sheila Collins, 1585, 1549, 1548; 2 Pete and Scott Garwood, 1553; 5 6 Ted and Sandra Scott, 1530, 1522.

Fens SR Federation

Eleven clubs sent 1,288 birds to Poole and just three local teams made the top 20. Pat and Julie Royle had the best bird, taking third fed. Seventh fed were Rod and Gloria Ogden and Sons and 13th open went to Phil and Wayne Vincent.
