Bowlers set for busy season

Lynn Bowls Club held its AGM on Sunday in a packed clubhouse.

Membership totalled 103 playing members and 16 social members, with an additional 35 playing as Wootton Park. Rink fees would remain at £1.50 for the 2015 season.

As was shown by the AGM, the clubhouse would benefit from extension. The committee is working on this idea and it is hoped to purchase a defibrillator. A ban on smoking on the Green was approved.

In 2015 the club will enter two blocks in the Lynn and District Ladies League, One in the Silver Jubilee, two in the County Triples, one in the EBA Mens Fours League, one in the Brewery League and two in the Albert Victor.

President: Ron Pond, vice-president: Ann Bolton, chairman: Tony Pinder, secretary: Geoff Bonnick, club captain: Trevor Oakey, vice-captain: Colin Sunter, treasurer: Tony Porter, ladies captain: Linda Oakey, Silver Jubilee: Trevor Oakey, County Triples A: Dave Camp, County Triples B: Geoff Bonnick. EBA Mens 4s: Dave Camp, Albert Victor A: Geoff Bonnick, Albert Victor B: Colin Sunter, Brewery: Colin Sunter, press officer: Ann Bolton.

The Green will open on April 11, 2015. Members are asked to turn up on Thursday, April 9 at 9am for cleaning of the clubhouse and garden.
