Table tennis teenage prospect Mollie Patterson exceeded expectations as she competed against the best players in England at the Junior National Cup.
The 13-year-old Brancaster Staithe player was invited to the tournament in Milton Keynes because of her position near the top of the Table Tennis England rankings and took on nine other top players in a round-robin event.
Seeded 10th for the event, she won four matches and finished in sixth position.
The Smithdon High School pupil and KL.FM West Norfolk Sports Awards winner said: “It was an all right tournament.
“I struggled a bit due to injuries but the rest after the first day was good for me and I think I’ve tried my best.”
