Clenchwarton YMCA junior Badminton club finished the season with a session of fun games and activities. The club runs every Monday after school and has 18 children regularly attending.
During the season coach Janis Baker ran an ongoing tournament and the eventual winner was Harvey Bargewell with Nathan Lomas as runner-up.
Three children from the club, Jess Lewis, Jack Lewis and Alfie Bargewell were chosen to meet World Championship silver medallist and three-time Olympian, Donna Kellogg when she came to Alive Lynnsport to coach selected juniors in April, organised by West Norfolk Junior Badminton.
It has been the most successful season so far for the club, with Harvey Bargewell, Hayden Lawrence, Flynn Mott and Matthew Bocking all being selected for the WNJB development squad.
At the final session two awards were handed out. The most improved player of the half-term went to 11 year-old Jess Lewis, who was the top ranked girl in the tournament.
The second award was for the most improved player over the season; the one who showed a good attitude towards learning, good behaviour and sportsmanship, and this went to Year 6 student Harry Preston.
The club will start again in September; for more details, go to www.janisbaker.co.uk
