Norfolk Alliance Cricket Division Two extra

Hethersett & Tas Valley 2nds lost to North Runcton 2nds

The home side won the toss and put the visitors into bat.

North Runcton put together two good early partnerships to get to 110 at the halfway stage. As soon as the free flowing innings of Ben Skipper (47) and George Rawlings (44) ended it was left up to Tim Coote (94 not out) to see Runcton to a very respectable total. A few lusty blows by Alex Rawson (29 not out) helped Runcton to set a target of 255 to win.

The home side started well racing to 100-1 before 16 overs. The turning point came when Bob Belcher (3-45) took the crucial wicket of Robert Mitchell (60) and another sharp leg side stumping by Rawlings saw Dean Parfitt (34) removed.

Tight bowling and excellent fielding by North Runcton, with two quick run outs by fielder supreme Sam Major, eventually saw them out as winners with Hethersett bowled out for 195.

IBA Wealth Management Man of the Man Tim Coote said: “I’m happy to get back in the runs after a dry spell at the beginning of the season but maximum points for the team is all that matters.”
