Division One

Horsford A 152 all out off 49.3 overs lost to North Runcton 154-7 off 34.3 overs

Horsford batted first and some tight bowling and good fielding from second-placed title chasers North Runcton ensured they never scored freely.

Pick of the bowlers was Ben Coote who ended with figures of 13-2-25-4. Ben Skipper and Mike Annakin bowled tightly also. Spinner Jack Major bowled well on return and secured figures of 13-0-54-2.

Harry Lankfer bowled a great spell of bowling at the death, taking three wickets for just 17 runs off seven overs. Horsford were bowled out for 152.

In reply promotion challengers North Runcton lost opener George Rawlings early for 4. Shortly after this M. Skipper was dismissed for 12. N. Freeman (21) and B. Coote (27) made good contributions, before getting out.

M. Crisp came and went for 4, which brought a quick-fire innings of 28 from Lankfer. T. Coote came in and hit 17 leaving North Runcton two runs short.

Number nine Major came in and hit his first ball for four to win the match.

Over the bank holiday weekend Runcton end their campaign with two games by facing Beccles and Topcroft. They are lying 16 points ahead of third-spot Acle and 13 behind leaders Garboldisham.
