Pelicans IIs 2 Sudbury IIs 1

Pelicans fielded yet another changed side but again started brightly.

Sudbury took the lead after Bower was unsighted at a short corner and saw the ball late and it deflected in.

The second half saw a better Pelicans side. Corbett peppered the Sudbury keeper, who turned out to be the first team keeper.

Vinson, having moved, now demanded the ball wide right and turned the game at a short corner by picking up his own rebounded shot.

In the third of three short corners in the closing five minutes, a switch went to Brown who passed back into Corbett who neatly placed the ball in the corner for the win.

MoM: Graham Brooks: fitness and tenacity for the entire game.

From the pushback Pelicans attacked with Lucy Lim and Amy Thompson pushing forward.

Reward came after just 10 minutes when Ella Scott found the corner of the Dereham goal with a powerful strike after a great run from Thompson and a perfect pass from Ellie Burt.

Immy Ramsdale in the Pelicans goal made several fine saves. After the interval Issy Pope and Burt scored.
