Vandals have damaged Terrington St Clement Cricket Club’s nets and dressing room.

The mobile set of nets, which cost an estimated £1,500, were installed at the Churchgateway ground around two years ago. Parts of the poles and frame have been torn down.

Damage has also been done to the new portable changing facilities, and the club has published photographs on its Facebook and Twitter sites.

Terrington treasurer and coach Vic Young said the club’s weekend Cambs League Junior Division Three – where they are top on a Saturday – and Mid-Norfolk Sunday League games will go ahead.

He said: “It looks as though someone has been swinging and climbing over the portable cabin and they have managed to pull some of the poles apart.

“They have also managed to pull the electrical wire off the side of the building. There’s no other damage that we can see.”

On the cost of the damage caused, he continued: “It’s not going to cost us anything to do apart from manpower, but that’s not really the point. It’s just a bit annoying.

“It just means we’ve got to do repairs to the electrical system and repairs to the nets.”
