Three hundred enthusiasts were served a feast of top class darts at Hunstanton’s Searles Leisure Resort over the weekend.

On stage were sporting legends Bobby George, Terry ‘The Bull’ Jenkins, Chris ‘Mace the Ace’ Mason and Steve ‘Bomber’ Brown from Friday to Sunday.

The highlight of the weekend was seeing their favourites compete against each other on the Saturday evening over three legs, 501 down.

The head to head matches resulted in Steve Brown beating Terry Jenkins in the final.

The previous evening the players involved themselves in a question and answer session, signed autographs and gave away signed keepsakes.

On Saturday afternoon local challengers competed to be one of a lucky four who were given the chance to toe the oche against the four stars after the main event on the Saturday evening.

Clint Mason, Paul Addies, Shaun Futter and Sheridan Dyer all took on star opposition.

Mason, will long remember the occasion because he won the tournament.

But local player Futter beat professional PDC star Steve Brown on a memorable night.

All was masterminded by Sky TV MC Paul Starr assisted by Sky walk-on girls, Daniella Allfree and Charlotte Wood. Light entertainment was provided by comedian Kane Brown.

“I’ve always been interested in darts on TV and I thought that darts would work here,” said Searles’ managing director, Paul Searle.

“Entertainment like this, plus music shows and conferences brings business to Hunstanton in the off-peak winter season.”
