Nordelph veteran Stephen Carrett is enjoying a golden period playing county darts for Cambridgeshire and at super league level.
The 59 year-old last week hit a 38.54 (115.62) average in his super league game for March GER which has not been achieved in over 25 years – the last person to achieve this average was Kevin Spiolek.
On Saturday he reached the final of the PDC UK open qualifiers at Riley’s Norwich.
Immediately before that Carrett – who also plays for a number of Lynn sides – got into the quarter-finals of the UK Open, and he is playing again on Friday night (February 10) at Nottingham Rileys where he hopes to get the win.
His previous achievements include England national singles winner in 2014.
With his pairs partner Dennis Harbour their results have been: England pairs winner 2015; England pairs runner up 2016; and Latvian open pairs third place 2016.
Carrett is growing constantly in skill and confidence and is hoping to get some sponsorship this year to do the BDO tour to help him qualify for the Lakeside finals in 2018.
He would like to thank Metro rod Cambridge and Sage Electrical for the sponsorship they gave last year.
