On Monday, August 8 King’s Lynn Golf Club’s Seniors’ Invitation Day had a field of 54.
Club captain, Kwai Li, presented the prizes. The winners of the better ball pairs competition were Richard High and his guest John Rice from Ryston Park with 47 points.
Second prize went to Paul Arnold and his guest David Hurlbut from Sheringham with 42pts. Third was the team of Justin Williams and his guest John Newton from Brampton Park with 41pts ocb.
Eight other players shared other special prizes on a very enjoyable occasion. Four days later KLGC resurrected its Texas scramble with each of eight teams having one Junior, one Lady and one Senior.
The winners were Juniors’ captain Macsen Heath, Pat Arnold and David Griffin with a net round of 63.2.
Second were Macsen’s brother Kale Heath, Betty Engledow and Peter Key with 65 (who beat Matt Chapman, Judy Vaughan and Ron Engledow by 0.1 of a shot).
Many of the players urged the club to keep this event in next year’s golfing calendar.
