Luke Allen from Hilborough claimed a class win and second spot overall in the latest rounds of the Classic Touring Car series on the indy circuit at Brands Hatch.
The former Methwold High School pupil qualified eighth on the grid (fourth in class) for Saturday’s race.
An excellent race saw him right on the tail of the leader as he crossed the line second overall and first in class.
Allen started second on the grid for Sunday’s race and a downpour just before the race left him with the wrong tyres.
He eventually finished down in 13th, but was still fifth in class.
Allen said: “We had an awesome first race, showing serious speed to win our class by a mile.
“We were second overall against a lot faster cars and the car was perfect in the dry.
“Due to lack of budget we were unable to afford wet weather tyres for the second race, however we still managed to finish fifth in our class.”
Allen, in his third year of racing, had a year off last year to build his new car from scratch with his father, but he is now starting to achieve results.
