Hilborough’s Luke Allen has his sights on going one place better when he sets out on the Classic Touring Car Pre 2003 Championship trail later this year.
Allen, 23, finished second in his self-built Honda Civic last season after a fantastic debut campaign in the series.
After spending the majority of 2014 building the 2002 Honda Civic from a shell he bought on eBay, Allen enjoyed an incredible run of results.
The race ace helped himself to four victories and ten podiums during a memorable 2015.
With that experience now behind him, a positive Allen said: “We are still going to race the 2002 Honda Civic Type R which we built.
“After finishing second in the championship last season, I am keen to go one better this year by claiming the overall title.
“We have made several changes to the car over the winter, as well as the usual maintenance tasks needed.
“This will hopefully give us a bit more feel and pace from the car on track throughout the season.”
Allen will kick-off his 2016 exploits in early April at the Northamptonshire race circuit of Rockingham.
To boost his chances going forward, a number of new sponsors have come on board to help his quest for championship glory.
New sponsors include Automotive Brands, Power Maxed, Steel Seel, J-B Weld, DNA Tuning, Imprint Signs & Graphics & Honda Lifestyle UK. These join existing backers Darren Hurrell Photographers, Juicy Details Car Care and Linda Iceburg Racing.
There is still advertising space across the car for the season.
Anyone who would like further information can find Allen online and across social media as Luke Allen Racing.
“Any other support in terms of sponsorship for 2016 would be greatly appreciated,” said Allen.
Allen’s race dates for 2016 are as follows: Rockingham (April 9-10), Cadwell Park (May 14-15), Donington (June 19), Thruxton (July 2-3), Brands Hatch (July 30-31), Snetterton (September 10-11) and Silverstone International (October 8-9).
