West Norfolk Junior Badminton player, Harry Wakefield (10), proved he is a star of the future after reaching the final of a national under 11 tournament and bringing home the silver medal.
Harry, from Feltwell, took part in the Badminton England competition in Luton, Bedfordshire, which had one of the largest entries from across the country, with eight groups of four players starting.
Despite being put in a group with the number three seed from Warwickshire, Harry won all three of his matches to reach the knockout stages.
In the round of 16, he won relatively easily 11-8, 11-6, then won his quarter-final by a similar scoreline, to reach the semi-finals.
In the last four he faced the number two seed from Yorkshire and had a very tough three-set match, but caused another upset, winning by 11-9 in the deciding end.
In the final he faced Ethan Hosken from Bucks and the pair played an exciting and close match, with Harry just missing out on the gold medal, losing 8-11, 8-11.
He was then asked to play doubles with Bucks player Shreyas Boyina, and the scratch partnership did very well in their group to win two matches.
Their only loss came to the top seeds and eventual winners from Yorkshire/Warwickshire.
