Four West Norfolk AC athletes will travel to Manchester at the weekend to represent Norfolk in the National Sportshall Championships.

Brothers Charlie and Alfie Williams will be competing in the U15 Boys competition, Amber Scott in the U13 Girls and Joe Williams in the U13 Boys categories.

Charlie, competing in his final year, dominated the Norfolk Sportshall League to take the overall title and continued this form into the regionals that took place in Hatfield in February.

He won the 4 Lap Run and Standing Long Jump and with a slightly disappointing shot where he came fifth, he finished second overall individually. Meanwhile younger brother Alfie came fifth in the 4 Lap Run, fifth in the Standing Triple Jump and fourth in the Shot to finish equal sixth individually.

Both boys assisted Norfolk to edge out Hertfordshire to qualify for the Nationals as regional champions.

In the U13 Girls Amber was part of a extremely strong Norfolk squad that as defending national champions dominated the regionals to win comfortably. Scott contributed to that with a 5.92m in the Standing Triple Jump to gain a fourth place.

Finally in the U13 Boys, Joe Williams had an fantastic season in the Norfolk Sportshall League, remaining unbeaten all season. In the regionals he came fifth in the 2 Lap and continued his unbeaten run in the Standing Long Jump to win with a jump of 2.37m.
