Many King’s Lynn Cycling Club members have been out over the festive period.

On New Year’s Day members went on a ride of 49 miles from The Walks in Lynn and riding through west Norfolk roads and villages and back. Sunday saw members ride from Lynn to Shouldham Warren to do mountain biking while another group met at The Sandboy Public House car park and rode to Thornham.

Most Sundays will see the club organise a morning ride usually starting from The Sandboy Bawsey car park at 9am. If anyone is interested in joining one of these rides and want to gain the experience of riding in a group you would be more than welcome, and will be supported by other club riders. All that is required is a roadworthy bike, spare inner tube, working lights and money for a coffee and cake stop which is usually incorporated on a ride. Mileage is tailored for specific weather predicted conditions throughout the year.

Also the Go Ride Children’s Club resumes on Tuesday evenings at 6pm to 7pm at Lynnsport athletics track. Come along and enjoy and learn cycling skills for children by Go Ride led coaches.

Forthcoming event: Sunday, February 21 at Alive Lynnsport, Greenpark Avenue, in Lynn at 9am will see KLCC organising and hosting their annual Reliability Ride. Riders will be able to choose between two distances, 100k and 50k, and ride in different speed-determined groups.

The challenge is to ride the chosen route in groups in a specific time period. Signing on will be in the bar area in Lynnsport from 8.30am onwards.

Cost is £3 per rider. Last year saw more than 58 riders participate and this event is open to any members of the riding public. Requirements are a roadworthy bike with lights.
