Carl Breeze hopes it will be business as usual in the latest rounds of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup at the weekend.

The Lynn racer travels to the UK’s fastest circuit of Thruxton at the weekend looking to continue his impressive run of podiums.

Breeze said: “I’m really looking forward to Thruxton. It’s a fast-natured circuit where I’ve had quite a bit of success in the past.

“It sorts the men out from the boys really as there are only two chicanes for braking. Other than that you are flat out on the rest of the track.

“It’s about having a lot of confidence with your car and pushing it to its limits.

“We’ve stripped the car right down since Donington Park so hopefully it should be a lot quicker on the straights.

“The track has a really abrasive surface so it can be really hard on the tyres. Luckily we have two extra tyres which we saved from Brands Hatch.”

Breeze’s HHC Motorsport are arguably the team to beat in Hampshire, having had at least two of their drivers on the podium in every race run so far.

2012 champion Breeze is hot on the heels of teammate Jamie Orton, with his experience behind the wheel of the Ginetta G55 guiding him to five podium finishes, with one overall win.

Orton holds a 15-point gap over Breeze, who was quickest in two of the three testing sessions at Thruxton last month, at the top of the standings.

But Breeze is focusing on his own performance, saying: “I’m keeping a close eye on the people around me in the championship, but it’s all about concentrating on what I’m doing.

“Our pace was very strong and consistent in testing, where I was half-a-second quicker, so I’m expecting to go well.

“I’m looking for another points haul of more than 70 points, as long as we can do well in qualifying and avoid any dramas during the weekend.”

Breeze will have to negotiate qualifying and two races tomorrow before his final outing of the weekend early on Sunday afternoon.

n You can follow his progress and watch him in action on ITV4 on Sunday.
