King’s Lynn Volvo dealership, Hylton Gott is sponsoring teenager driver, Chloe Hewitt, following her season debut progressing from karting competitions to race car driving.
A member of the Lynn Motor Club, Chloe, aged 17 from nearby Sudbury, came into contact with dealer principal, Steve Tilburn, who sits on the committee and edits the club’s newsletter.
Chloe competes in the Open Class, although all Minis compete at the same time, and is easily spotted on the track behind the wheel of her distinctive liveried zebra ‘racing stripped’ car.
“At first glance, it sounds a bit of a mismatch, a Volvo dealership sponsoring a Mini Challenge driver and the Hylton Gott Volvo name emblazoned all over the car, but we have watched Chloe mature from a competent and impressive kart racer to making her debut on the bigger track. We think she is hugely talented and will go far, we’re delighted to be one of her first sponsors,” commented Tilburn.
“There’s also the personal connection as our business has been involved with the King’s Lynn Motor Club for some years where Chloe has been an active member having cut her racing teeth with the club.
“The sponsorship offers us the opportunity to promote our dealership to race-goers throughout the country. The Mini Challenge is typically contested by up and coming young drivers who are usually watched by parents and other family members. We believe very much in supporting young people from the local area and wish Chloe the very best of luck this season”, added Tilburn.
Located at Downham Road, Crimplesham, Hylton Gott has a long association with motorsport including fielding its own team in local race meetings.
