IBA Ltd KLTTA week 12

Premier leaders Topspynn met their match this week against Wisbech Wizards.

The match started well for Topspynn with a good win for Richard Johnson against Brian Hill.

Wizards won the next nine games with Jimmy Brewster and Brett Heppenstall unbeaten.

Gary Hewitt and Allan Nicholls had maximums for Ziggys in an 8-2 win against Avengers.

Martyn Allen and Richard Mussett responded for Avengers, both beating John Blyth.

Pegg Scaffolding cruised to a 9-1 win against Wisbech with Wayne Mason and Johnny Reavell leading the way.

Rob Rix put up a battle for Wisbech with a good win against Martin Skipper and was unlucky in five ends against Reavell.

Wasps kept up the pressure with a solid all-round performance against Heacham.

Two wins each for Liam Irlam, Steve Mason and Mike Crowson produced a 7-3 win for Wasps with James Patterson replying with a Heacham maximum.

Fourth placed St. James had Owen Turner and Serafim Melo in fine form against bottom team Wisbech Hawks. Craig Pack and Graham Sheppard kept the flag flying with wins against Alan Jones with an 8-2 result.

Ambit Projects are the team to beat in Division One, demolishing rivals Pauls Driving School 8-2.

Rob Rix continued his fine form with a fourth straight maximum. David Whitby and Lewis Baldock provided support with two wins each. Paul Barrett and Steve Hunt had a win each for Pauls to avoid the whitewash.

The second and third places brought together Heacham and Wasps ‘2’ with Igor Scekalevs retaining his unbeaten record and Mick Forth added two wins for Wasps. Leigh McDonald stood out for Heacham with two wins and Mick Ruffles and Melissa McDonald combined to force a draw.

Greenfingers travelled to Runcton Holme ‘B’ and a Stuart Frost maximum helped them to a 7-3 win.

Gordon Penny added two wins and John Carney joined the party with a win over Carol Parker.

For Runcton, Clive Sandle stood out with two wins and David Lane beat Carney for his point.

Swaffham Terriers put up a brave fight against Spin Doctors despite fielding only two players.

Terriers’ Peter Fysh with 2.5 points and Peter Nunn 1.5 just fell short.

Gary Wiggs was unbeaten for Doctors and Roger Chilvers had a good win against Nunn in a close match.

Runcton Holme did their chances no harm with a 10-0 win against Blades.

John Mingay, Melvyn Jupp and Graham Warren proved too powerful for Alex Bragg, Max Smith and Ben Peacock.
