IBA Ltd KLTTA week 16

Ambit Projects continue to dominate in IBA Ltd Division One with Rob Rix the only unbeaten player in the division after a win against Igors Scekalevs.

Graham Rogerson and David Whitby had two wins each to give Ambit a 7-3 win against Wasps ‘2’.

Scekalevs replied with two wins and joined with Terry Rudd for the doubles.

Heacham jumped into second place with a 10-0 win against Spin Doctors. Leigh McDonald, David Woolley and Melissa McDonald were the stars for Heacham.

Paul’s Driving School are still in the hunt after a 7-3 win against Swaffham Terriers. Paul Barrett and Phil Brown had maximums for Paul’s with Peter Fysh, Keith Richardson and Peter Nunn responding with a win each over Ashley Starling.

Runcton B remain bottom despite a good 6-4 win against Blades. Clive Sandall and David Lane scored 2.5 each for the B team and Carol Parker added a win against Ben Peacock.

Star for Blades was Dan Vertigan with a solid maximum and Alex Bragg continued his good form with a win against Parker.

Runcton Holme are creeping up the league thanks to an 8-2 win against Greenfingers. Steve Bailey was unbeaten and Nick Osborne and Graham Warren had two wins apiece. Ray Drew and Stuart Frost provided the resistance for Greenfingers with a win each.

Wisbech Wizards find themselves at the top of the Premier League this week after a hard fought draw against second-placed Ziggys.

Two wins each for Brett Heppenstall and Jimmy Brewster and one win for Brian Hill was matched by a Gary Hewitt maximum and a win for Alan Nicholls who teamed up for the doubles.

Individual performance of the week saw Serafim Melo unbeaten for St. James in their 6-4 loss against Pegg Scaffolding.

Wayne Mason and Dale Parnell picked up a couple of wins each and Peter Pegg added a win.

Bottom of the table clash saw Wisbech Hawks register their first win 6-4 against fellow strugglers Wisbech.

Craig Pack scored a maximum and received good support from Graham Sheppard.

Jerry Irving responded with two wins for Wisbech and Mark Littlechild and Tim Hines added a win each against Nick Pack.

Martyn Allen led Avengers to a 6-4 win against Wasps with Richard Mussett adding two wins and Don Dixon one.

Steve Goodale was in fine form for Wasps with two wins and Mike Crowson added one before combining with Goodale to take the doubles.

l It is with great sadness the league reports the passing of Richard (Dick) Cummins last Friday (January 8). Richard has been a stalwart of the King’s Lynn Table Tennis league and will be sorely missed.

His funeral is to be held at the Mintlyn Crematorium on Tuesday, January 26, 10am.
