Fenland Clarion Go-Ride Cross Race, Peterborough Athletics Arena, Friday

This was the second of three rounds of racing, with 32 riders from eight different clubs attending, writes Ray Barnett.

King’s Lynn Cycling Club fielded six riders in some close and exciting racing.

In the under 10s, an eventful series of races put Florence Barnett in fourth place with 50 points. Ben Shepherd finished with 47, and Sterling Smith 39.

In the U12s with only two points separating the top four, Bethany Barnett finished joint second with 55 points.

Tye Rug and Jacob Good on debut finished with 45 and 30 points respectively.

With just one round to go in the series Oliver Tilley leads the way for the U10s, 16 points clear from KLCC’s Florence Barnett with Ben Shepherd (KLCC) and Jael Maw (Boston Wheelers) sitting close behind hoping to get their opportunity to clinch a victory.

In the U12’s, it’s another Tilley versus Barnett battle with Harry Tilley just three points ahead of KLCC’s Bethany Barnett, the Armstrong brothers Luke and Daniel, and Devonne Piccaver, the next girl. The final event of this exciting race series is on March 11 at Peterborough.

l On Good Friday, March 25, KLCC kick off the time trialling season with a club 10-mile time trial at Tottenhill.

Headquarters for signing on will be at Tottenhill Village Hall from 10am.
