King’s Lynn Go Ride were out in force this weekend at Pedal Norfolk Bike Event at Holkham Hall, Philip Bingham and Sterling Smith starting early to tackle 20 miles.

Bethany Barnett and Tye Rugg completed the second 50 mile route, taking a detour to actually clock up 75 miles.

Both routes took them through the Holkham Estate, with the juniors having to concentrate not only on other riders, but cars. Bingham enjoyed himself so much he wants to compete in all three days next year.

l On Monday some Lynn members participated in Ixworth Criterium Cycle Races on closed road circuit which had a series of category races and was hosted by West Suffolk Wheelers near Bury St Edmunds.

Bethany Barnett, Florence Barnett, Sterling Smith, Tye Rugg and Philip Bingham took part in the under 10’s and U14’s races. In the U10’s Florence, Philip and Sterling competed against 39 U8’s and 10’s in a four-mile, 15-minute race. Florence came second in the U10’s. Bethany and Tye took their places in the Youth B U14’s 25-minute race.

Chairman Phillip Seaman commented that the riding conditions were perfect and there was a terrific turnout for the Open 10 time trial on Saturday (see story above, right).
