King’s Lynn rider Procter wins veteran age category

Six King’s Lynn Cycling Club members took part in the Wisbech Wheelers Open 10 Time Trial on Sunday on the B10/02 course in a field of more than 40 riders.

David Procter was the first KLCC member in a time of 23.09 and won the VET B Age category. Other KLCC riders’ times: James Senter 23.59, Simon Hardy 25.09, Marcus Hopkins 27.37, Neil Holland 28.03, and Elaine Roesner 29.34.

Hardy described his race as: “My first time trial of the season. The weather was almost perfect: cool, but with bright sunshine and a slight cross wind. I pushed hard from the start and was pleased with my efforts and finished with a time of 25.09, a course personal best for me.”

Winner of the event was Jon Surtees from SSLL Racing Team in a time of 21.47.

KLCC will today hold the Good Friday Club 10 Time Trial on the B10/37r course, the first TT of the season on KLCC’s local 10-mile time trial course.

Headquarters will be Tottenhill Village Hall. Signing on at 10am and first rider off at 11am. Requirements are a roadworthy bike and rear working light. Cost: £3 adult riders and £2 for juniors (parental consent form needed to be completed and signed).

Refreshments teas, coffees and cakes in Tottenhill Village Hall where there will also be a Bike Jumble and Children’s Go Ride on the field at 12.15pm for an hour provided by coaches.

Go Ride Club members will be participating in various events over Easter: tomorrow at the Eastern Region Circuit Series Round 1 at Lee Valley Velo Park and on Monday the Eastern Region Youth Circuit Series Round 2 at Redbridge Cycling Centre. This will be followed by Go Ride Closed circuit racing at Redbridge on Saturday, April 2.
