This weekend saw 10 King’s Lynn Triathlon Club members race at the eighth North Norfolk Triathlon at Wells in glorious September weather.

The event consisted of a 1500m swim in the harbour, 40km bike around the surrounding countryside, finishing with a 10km run out to Holkham and back along the beach at Wells, including a stretch of around 1km of soft sand which is a good test to even the strongest runners.

First home for the club was Dan Guppy in a time of 2:09:59, placing him seventh in his age group.

He was followed by Alistair Doig 2:23:11, Kyle Staples 2:28:00, third in his age group, Mike Hailey 2:29:51, Jamie Staples 2:35:27, Karl Patterson 2:39:04, Neil Gayton 2:41:39, his first race at this distance, Andy McShane 2:42:24 and Mark Gaskins 2:59:34.

Adrian Ebbs did the run leg for his team the Snettisham Divots in 45mins for a team time of 2:31:59.

Club secretary Kirsty Bunting completed her first middle distance triathlon at Eton Dorney. She completed the 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run in time of 6:44:46, setting the fastest ladies swim time of the day.
