Lynn Badminton Club start new season

Lynn Badminton Club kicked off the 2015/16 Ouse Valley League with some very competitive games.

Lynn’s mixed A team defeated the B team 6-3 in a superb curtain-raiser to the new campaign.

Andy Ludlum, Sam Reeks and Frankie Johnson all featured while Dan Buckby stood in for in for the injured Dan Bennett.

There were some close games especially against the B team captain Rachel Ingham and her partner Edd Howes who won all of their games.

Lynn ladies went down 4-2 against their counterparts from YMCA.

The deciding game was won in three sets by Janis Baker and Penny Carter against Jess Alder and Jeanette Ivey.

Lynn Reds defeated Watlington 6-0 in a scoreline which didn’t reflect the quality of some of the games.

An evenly-balanced match saw Lynn mixed A lose 5-4 to Watlington mixed.

Cyril flew in from Saudi Arabia to represent Watlington with partner Moira and the flight was worth it as they won all three of their games.

Joe Link played well but nothing went his way, while Helen Arnold and Gary Buckby won two of their threeencounters to make it 5-4.

Lynn Ladies won their first match of the season following some long games against Watlington in a 4-2 success.
