Playing at Middleton Hall Golf Club on Friday in a Seniors’ RUGS Stableford competition, George McNeil holed out on the par three 15th hole with a 7 iron.
Before teeing off McNeil jokingly asked his fellow competitors what would they give him if he was closer to the hole than their shots. His shot landed nearer than the hole than his rivals and rolled close to the flag.
As the group left the tee box three balls were in view; however as they approached the green only two balls were now visible. McNeil’s fellow competitors rushed over to the hole and confirmed McNeil’s ball had dropped unseen into the hole. This was the third time McNeil had managed this feat.
Along with their congratulations his fellow competitors jokingly reminded McNeil he now owed them and the other competitors a traditional drink in the bar on completion of the competition.
