Many members from King’s Lynn Cycling Club rode the Prudential Ride London 100 Bike Sportive on Sunday – either for KLCC, as a team, as an individual with a ballot place, or through a charity place.
They all experienced a thrilling event on the day.
The 100-mile route started from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Stratford in London and on closed roads to traffic, travelling through the Surrey countryside and tackling Leith and Box Hill before finishing on The Mall in central London.
Some riders completed their ride in under five hours, others took longer, but all achieved their goals.
Club chairman Phillip Seaman commented: “I set a completion time of five hours for my charity but completed it in 4 hours 50 mins.
“The ride is a must for any keen cyclists. The conditions were perfect and an unbelievable atmosphere riding down the Mall to the finish line just outside Buckingham Palace.”
l Alison Lilley, Go-Ride coach Eastern Region, will be running a few sessions during the summer holidays for 9-14 year-old girls and boys, starting this week and continuing on Thursdays.
