Eleven year-old Rupert Harris is a very keen county tennis player from Nordelph whose family is asking if anyone could help find some sponsorship to aid him in his career

Rupert trains everyday in Easton, Norwich, with his tennis and fitness coaches

His father Andrew said: “Through a tennis coach friend in Hertfordshire we came across at a tournament he thought Rupert had something about him in the very long term so he contacted his tennis coach friend in the Czech Republic.

“From that Rupert was invited out to train with a coach in Prague in December and this was a big help.

“The outcome was that Rupert has been asked if he would like to train in Prague one week in every five or six weeks and longer in school holiday times, to play some tournaments in Europe and have more coaching.”

Rupert plays for Norfolk and has a one-handed backhand, which is unusual as 99 per cent of joiners are double-handed backhand players nowadays.

A one-handed backhand will be more beneficial in the long term when he is much older and stronger.

On a long term basis he would like to train and live full time in Prague at Sparta Tennis Centre and look to leave home, family and friends at some time over the next 18 months.

Any local sponsors who can help can contact Andrew Harris on 07881503804.
