North Runcton beat Diss

North Runcton welcomed relegation rivals Diss knowing that a win would near enough guarantee Premier Division cricket for next season.

Captain Ben Coote won the toss and chose to bowl first, and himself, alongside Ben Allsop, got the home side off to a brilliant start.

Allsop took a wicket with his first ball to dismiss Brown, and then later removed Williamson for 8. Coote helped himself to a wicket when opener Chris Cooper was caught by keeper Crisp.

Spin was introduced in the 15th over and was immediately effective as Joshy Ring and Jack Major took regular wickets. Major finished with figures of 5-26 from his 10 overs, including the big wicket of captain Tooke for 37. Ring took the final wicket off the last ball of his spell to earn himself figures of 2-12. Diss were bowled out for 93 off 34 overs.

Runcton then made light work of the run chase, as openers Mark Skipper (46 off 41 balls) and Dean Robinson (41 off 37 balls) looked in excellent touch to exceed the target in 12.2 overs to give North Runcton 25 points.

North Runcton travel to Garboldisham next weekend as they look to finish as high as possible in a very tight league where they find themselves only 11 points off second place.
