Acle 201 all out beat North Runcton 199 all out by two runs

North Runcton had Acle at 36-6, but let them off the hook as eventually Acle ended up scoring 201 runs.

These first six wickets were taken by B.Coote (13-4-29-4) and Ben Allsop (12-4-34-2), who both bowled superbly.

Then came a 152 run partnership between Acle’s number seven and eight batsman, which was a frustrating partnership for North Runcton and proved to be match-winning. Two run outs and two wickets for Harry Lankfer saw Acle bowled out for 201 in the 49th over.

North Runcton’s chase got off to a solid reply with a 69 run partnership between openers M.Skipper (27) and G.Rawlings (18). But North Runcton quickly fell to 84-4, losing four wickets in only six overs. A rebuild then started between M.Crisp (26) and Lankfer (43), in a good partnership of 76 runs.

The loss of these two key wickets left North Runcton 180-6, still requiring 22 runs for victory. The tail then collapsed leaving them three runs short.
