Pelicans Men 1st XI 13 Chelmsford 2nd 0
Pelicans bounced back from last week’s defeat against Crostyx in blistering fashion and gained revenge for a 5-1 defeat in the away fixture earlier in the season.
The game was well and truly over by half-time as Pelicans had a 6-0 lead.
Chelmsford did themselves no favours in the first half as all too often they presented the Pelicans front two of Simons, who bagged four superb goals, and Lankfer, who added another two to his tally, with plenty of chances.
Johnstone also looked in lethal form as he notched four goals and he continued his excellent scoring form from midfield.
Kerry was back after injury and found himself on the score sheet once in each half, the first being a fine individual effort.
Other chances in the first half fell to Henry and Walpole but they just missed the target. The final goal of the half was a penalty stroke well converted by Page.
Pelicans continued to boss the second half.
Johnstone and Simons completed their hat-tricks in fine fashion, as the visitors continued to be overrun by their ruthless hosts.
Meanwhile at the back Major, Page and Allsop looked solid enough as well as starting up a lot of attacks.
Aldous in goal was pretty much untested as he kept his second clean sheet of the season.
Pelicans could and should have had more goals in this dominant performance but for sure they have boosted their goal difference ahead of a trip to Colchester tomorrow.
