Pelicans U12 Girls were runners-up when Pelicans hosted the U10/U12 Boys and Girls County Finals last weekend.

Winners and runners-up qualify to the England Hockey Regional Finals on April 19. Due to injury and other commitments, the U12 team had Kate and Megan Willis making their début for the club and both gave 100 per cent.

First up was Dereham, and Izzy Pope sent the ball thundering into the backboard. Pope went on to complete her hat-trick although the third was a team effort. A goal deflected home by Mia Moore made the final score 4-1.

Next up was Norwich Dragons. Poppy Beales, Moore and Pope scored in a 3-0 win.

The third scoreless game was against Norwich City, an older more experienced side. A Norwich onslaught sent Beales to the floor with a ball to the head and Pelicans held out for a draw.

Last up were Harleston who won 2-0. Beales agreed to return to the starting line up, while there were some fine saves from Lucy Sagrott.
