Kart racer Piers Henderson from Thornham has taken the title of TVKC PF International Cadet Champion 2014, a class fielding 91 drivers.

At age 10 years and one month, he follows an impressive roll of honour headed up by Formula 1 Champion, Lewis Hamilton, who took the title in 1996 just before his 12th birthday.

Trent Valley Kart Club is now the largest kart racing club in the country and widely considered the most prestigious, with many of the track’s events being televised.

Piers has mapped out his future career to include an initial move to bigger karts, then into cars with the Ginetta series age 14, single seaters age 15 and then the ultimate drive for an F1 team.

Piers will be challenging for the title of British Champion in 2015, when his sponsors Hayes & Storr solicitors and Tec Tamers have already pledged their continued support due to his successes.
